       The Indian Air Force will organise a scintillating air show over the Bannimantap Grounds in Mysore on 05 Oct 2008 Sunday from 10.00 AM to 1.00 PM , enthralling thousands of people.

      It will be a rare display of the awesome capabilities of the IAF pilots. As many as 15 aircraft and helicopters, including the fighters, trainee and transport aircraft and choppers will participate in the air show that will last for more than an hour

      Thousands of people are likely to coverage in the stadium and roads all around Bannimantap Grounds to witness the spectacular show, which was intended to showcase the prowess of IAF pilots and flying machines and to attract young men and women into the air wing of the country's defence forces. Besides this the Indian Army's dare devil riders "ASHET ASWA" will also present their show to the people visiting the Air Show.
For the First time, The IAF special Forces "GARUD" will be a part of the Mysore Air Show who will demonstrate their capabilities to operate in STIE and Slithering Operations.

      The entire area is expected to reverberate with the sound of the aircraft and choppers performing the fly past above the city celebrating the dasara festivities. This will be the sixth edition of the air show organised in as many years in the city and the biggest shows in all these years.

      Air Marshal VR Iyer, Air Officer Commanding in Chief, Training Command will be invited as the Chief Guest for the show and many senior officers of the Indian Armed Forces will be present for the show.

      As in the previous years it is expected that about sixty Thousand of men, women and children will brave the scorching sun and cheer the aircraft and choppers as they will fly over their heads.

      The breathtaking flypast and GARUD operations will be the main attractions, including sky diving by Air Devil team coming from Delhi especially for the purpose.

      Earlier, two Chetak helicopters from Flying Instructors school will drop Petals on viewers/guests at the stadium and halt for the static display. They will be followed by HPT 32 aircrafts which is the basic flying training piston engine aircrafts in vic formation. This will be followed by one MI-8 helicopter with the IAF special Forces carring out the STIE operations. This will be followed by a HJT-16 in vic formation. One MI-8 helicopter with the Commandos will carry out the slithering operations and simulate a battle front scene where the commandos will get down from the helicopter by a rope and occupy enemy territory. This will be followed by flypast by one Jaguar and One Mig-21 (Type 96) aircraft. The transport aircraft formation known popularly as the 'Small boy formation' with one AN-32 aircraft and two Dornier transport aircraft from the Air Force Station Yelahanka will carry out a low level flypast. Finally the Air Devil Team will carry out the Sky Diving act from the Helicopter flying at about 7000 Ft high and will land in the stadium in full public glare.

      To wrap up the awesome display, Thirty seven members of the Indian Army 'ASHET ASWA' team from Corps of Military Police center Bangalore will perform a breath taking display which usually was conducted only on the Torch light parade in the previous years.

      The state of operational preparedness of the defence forces which ensured safety and security of the nation will be displayed by these men in uniform. "The character of the men in uniform will instill a sense of pride, discipline and above all, patriotism," the common man should be assured.
